ALEC CHAMBERS wishes for “Something To Cry About” on new single

Alec Chambers has come a long way. He just accompanied singer/songwriter Billy Raffoul on his East Coast tour. Now he’s gearing up to release his searing pop ballad called “Something To Cry About” on June 12th. It’s crazy to think that only a few years ago he was recording YouTube covers in his bathroom (there may have been toilet paper in the background but the acoustics were optimal, obviously).

Alec walks the line between Pop and R&B, diving headfirst into a story of coping mechanisms and a desire to feel something on this poignant track. It was created in collaboration with Greek-born producer Stavros (AJ Mitchell), Sarah Nagourney (Polina, Oh Honey), and Ori Dulitski. It’s Alec’s favorite song to date and he’s so excited that he can’t keep it to himself (he has been previewing it on TikTok).

In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, Alec was given the opportunity to record a cover of Curtis Mayfield’s “Keep on Keeping on” to raise funds for the WHO and those affected by COVID-19. It will be released soon by UK-based label FRtyfve.

You may recognize Alec from Glamour’s viral video series “You Sang My Song.” The segment featured several online covers of Halsey’s chart-topping hit “Without Me” and Halsey’s reaction to each of them. The internet is full of covers, but Alec stands out because the pain in his voice is so audible, you’d think it was his own song.

A talented multi-instrumentalist, Alec recently released an acoustic version of his previous single “Cold.” “Cold” is a heart-wrenching pop track about the realization that you can love someone even if you know that it’s not meant to be. That revelation led Alec to be uncharacteristically cold, but he sings his apology and shows his warmth in this upbeat pop track. When you listen, you can hear the love, the pain, and everything in between.

After years of honing his vocals with online covers, Alec is ready to tell his own stories of love, pain, and healing. He is a talented songwriter who has collaborated with the likes of Larzz Principato (Halsey), Ben Antelis (Dua Lipa), Jonah Shai (Chelsea Cutler), Brian Keirulf (Alex Aiono, Lady Gaga), and Will Simms (The Vamps). Alec has released a handful of other singles since 2016, including “Boston,” and “Starting Fires” (SONY).

The Connecticut-based singer now has 1.4mm followers on TikTok, 480k subscribers on Youtube, and over 240k followers on Instagram. It is only a matter of time before Alec becomes a pop standard.
